Andy is ready for his forever home! He is 7 months old and weighs 41 pounds and is a shepherd Mix. He is beyond handsome and smart. He loves playing with other dogs and loves going to fiesta island. He enjoys going on walks and even goes shopping with his foster mom. This boy and his sister were found abandoned on the streets of Tecate, Mexico. We found them laying next to their deceased sister who died of the dreaded disease, distemper. Andy and his sister both survived with extensive treatment and lots of love. We are so relieved neither of them have any residual from the disease. They are both perfectly healthy. Andy had to be in isolation for 2 months while he was recovering. With the lack of socialization, which is crucial in early life, Andy is a bit timid and shy with new people. With the help of his awesome foster mom and the trainer that is working with him, he has come a long way. He has more confidence and is less shy. He comes around much faster than he was. He is the best dog and a real sweetheart. He just needs someone who will have some patience and understanding while he opens up. Trust us, once has decompressed he will be your shadow. He loves his people. Having another dog in the home is a requirement. Having a buddy helps him open up more quickly and builds his confidence. We love this boy and he is going to make the best addition to your home.
